SPANISH CINEMA NOW + DALLAS | Un Amor
August 14, 2025 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm CDT
Free
Now in its second year, Spanish Cinema Now + Dallas presents a showcase of films reflecting the breadth of styles and talent at work in Spain today, including established auteurs and emerging filmmakers from the international festival scene. After its spring presentation in Washington, DC, the Meadows Museum will bring these films to Texas thanks to a partnership with the Embassy of Spain and Dallas Film. Space is limited and advance registration is required.
Tonight’s screening is Un amor (One Love, 2023), a drama directed by Isabel Coixet from a screenplay by Coixet and Laura Ferrero based on the novel of the same name. Seeking an escape from a series of emotionally draining experiences in her professional life, a beautiful young woman rents a cabin in rural Spain and starts a new chapter filled with unexpected romantic encounters…Benefitting immensely from the nuanced performances of a first-rate cast headlined by the magnetic Laia Costa, this rewarding new work marks a return to form for one of the most decorated female directors in European cinema.
