SPAIN Dances

Experience an original, immersive dance performance that progresses through several of the museum’s galleries. Spanish choreographer Elvi Balboa will debut a new composition inspired by artworks from the Meadows collection, developed in collaboration with first-year Dance Division students and Alvon Reed, SMU’s Artist in Residence in Jazz. Balboa is a Barcelona-based multidisciplinary artist whose work adapts to the environments in which it is performed, transforming public spaces into sites of creation and exploration.
This program is offered in collaboration with the Cultural Office of the Embassy of Spain in Washington, D.C., and the Division of Dance at the Meadows School of the Arts, SMU. Portable gallery stools will be available..
$10; free for SMU students/faculty/staff and Meadows Museum members at the Individual level and above.
