Family Day: Abstraction

Lines and colors and shapes, oh my! Enjoy art making, gallery activities, story time, and more as you explore the world of abstract art at the Meadows Museum. Admission and parking are free. Strollers are welcome. Changing tables and healthy snacks will be available.

The Colorful World of Cuenca Family Guide
Enjoy a self-guided journey through the exhibition, In the Shadow of Dictatorship: Creating the Museum of Spanish Abstract Art.

Found Object Gelli Prints
Use found objects to create abstract designs and print them using Gelli Arts® printing plates.

Stroll the sculpture plaza as you read My Colors, My World/Mis Colores, Mi Mundo then contribute to a collaborative work inspired by the book.

Giacometti Gestures
Create sculptures inspired by Woman of Venice VI by Alberto Giacometti.

Metallic Landscapes
Join Cedars Union artist Jessica Baldivieso to create a landscape collage inspired by Gustavo Torner’s Stainless Steel and Silver-plated Scrap Metal.

Neurographic Drawing
Relax and unwind with therapeutic neurographic drawing.

Children’s Drawing from the Masters | 3–4 p.m.
Join artist and elementary art teacher Ian O’Brien to explore a variety of drawing techniques.
